Things We Love: #McCormack55 and Mannequins
The rib-tickling and the thought-provoking... What's caught our attention on the world wide web this week?

In our latest edition of Things We Love, Club Journalist Caroline Oatway rounds up the best of the internet's offerings from the past seven days…

#McCormack55

In an incredibly heart-warming gesture, there was a new addition to Rochdale’s squad for their Checkatrade Trophy clash with Hartlepool.

Five-year-old Joshua McCormack, who is suffering from a terminal brain tumour, became the club’s youngest ever signing and was named by manager Keith Hill on the teamsheet.

Although the youngster was too poorly to attend, a shirt bearing his name hung proudly in the dressing room and on the bench.

Dale secured a 2-1 triumph to progress, with Hill dedicating the victory to Joshua.

Good vs. Evil

We all love a bit of nostalgia – particularly when it’s football-themed.

This throwback from 90s Football Vids of Nike’s Good vs. Evil advert was greatly appreciated…

Izzy, Izzy, let’s get busy

Man City Women’s attacking prowess has been one of the talking points of the season.

Of their 62 goals in all competitions, there have been some absolute worldies, including Wednesday night’s Champions League winner against Brondby IF.

Izzy Christiansen’s wonderfully lobbed effort against Notts County in the Super League has been nominated as one of the Goals of the Season.

Record breakers

In addition to their two titles – with the league trophy secured as Invincibles – Man City Women have also been making history off the pitch, with increased attendances...

Making strides

It’s always pleasing to see our loan stars do well – and as you’ll know from our Loan Watch feature, plenty of them are doing just that.

This week, Sky Sports put the spotlight on the winger, discussing his spell at FC Twente.

In the piece, Celina opens up about impressing Pep Guardiola, his future, his beloved Kosovo and more…

Well worth a read!

Super Frank

One of four NYCFC players, Frank Lampard has been nominated for MLS End of Year Awards.

He’s up for the Comeback Player of the Year, and journalist Mark Booth caught up with the footballing legend, who shared his thoughts on the nomination, his side’s season and his winter plans.

Have a nosey at that here.

Blue jersey

He may be an up and coming player in the NFL for the Redskins but Su’a Cravens sported Blue this week, rocking our home shirt!

#MannequinChallenge

This was always going to make the list…

This effort by our EDS lads for the #MannequinChallenge went viral earlier this week.

Can’t. Stop. Watching!
