Megan Campbell Megan Campbell

Megan Campbell became MCWFC's fourth signing of the off-season, when she put pen to paper on a contract in February 2016.

The 22-year-old left-back followed in the footsteps of Jane Ross, Marie Hourihan and Kosovare Asllani in making the move to Nick Cushing's side, having completed her scholarship with Florida State University.

An Ireland international, Campbell moved to the USA to embark on a career in college football, whilst studying a degree in social science. She made more than 60 appearances in her three-year stay with the Seminoles, creating 31 assists which helped to earn three consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference titles.
No stranger to success, she was also named in the 2014 ACC All-Tournament Team and lifted the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship - and she hopes to achieve more with her new team.

Following spells with local Drogheda teams, Campbell started her senior career with St Francis. A month after turning 16, she made her debut as a substitute in the FAI Women's Cup final and went on to become a first-team regular, gaining Champions League experience along the way.

In 2011, she joined Raheny United where she clinched a league and cup double, meriting a place in the Women's National League Team of the Season, before jetting off to Florida to embark on her scholarship.

At international level, she worked her way up from the under-17s side to the first-team and has collected 33 caps for her country, scoring twice.

Hard-working and fond of a tackle, the defender is regarded as a throw-in specialist - a weapon she hopes will come in handy with Jill Scott around to target!
