Manchester City's Official Health and Wellness Partner, Vitality, are taking fans behind the scenes at the City Football Academy to meet the staff responsible for ensuring that our young players and both the Men’s and Women’s First teams are in peak physical condition.

In the third instalment of this series, we learn more about the role of Emma Lipman, Athletic Development Academy Coach.

Based in the sports science department, Emma is responsible for the physical development of the Blues’ young players.

In part one of the series, the former Man City Women defender spoke of the work her job entails and in part two she gave us the lowdown on what her working week involves.

In our final chat with Emma, she explains how her time with the players during the week impacts on what happens on matchday.

Numbers don’t always tell you everything. They can give you a picture but we have to ensure we don’t get lost in the numbers and the involvement of GPS and other systems. We can’t forget we’re dealing with a human being.
